1. Stop ethnic cleansing by brutal militarism
From this gathering of Chittagong City Jamaat-e-Islami, we strongly protest the brutal militarism of Aung Sun Su Ki & her military backed government. The innocent Rohingyas including Muslims & Hindus are being forced to leave their native places jointly by her state forces & communal terrorists. Brutal killing including just born babies, barbaric raping of women including adolescents,
ablazing houses & religious institutions, looting wealth & assets etc. all inhuman criminal offenses are being carried out for ethnic cleansing of Rohingyas. Blind support by China & India, using Israeli weapons & no meaningful protest from USA, Russia and other global forces deepens the problem & making Rohingyas into victims of their interests. We do protest & appeal to global foces & muslim countries to press Myanmer government to stop their brutal militarism.
2. Ensure citizenship rights of Rohingyas
We strongly demand the full citizenship rights & repatriation of Ruhingya refugees as the long term & permanent solution of the problem. Historically Rohingyas are Citizens of Myanmar. In 1960 Myanmar (Burma) Parliament, 3 Muslim members were elected & thats a great historical proof of their citizenship. The communal mentality of ex president General Thane Shane & so called Vante Ribattu created the problem. Under the slogan of 'Protection of Race & Religion' followed by the black Citizenship Law 1982 cause communal & racial oppressions on Rohingyas treating them as stateless citizens. We strongly demand and appeal to Global forces & Muslim countries to press Myanmar government to revive the citizenship rights of Rohingyas and to repatriate all refugess from 1978 till the date to their native places. We strongly demand to implement recommendations made by 9 members' Cofi Annan Commission. We strongly declare that citizenship rights of Rohingyas ensure their peaceful living & participation in democratic & development activities and which is a must for rigional as well global stability.
3. Stand beside Refugees with all supports
We strongly demand Bangladesh Govt. to play effective role to create national consensus with all political & religious forces to deal the refugee issue effectively. The influx of thousands of refugees is definitely a national problem, but its our moral as well as humanitarian duty to ensure their basic needs including shelter, food, water, clothing, medicine etc. Digitalized full registration of all refugees is also equally important to effectively manage the relief works, repatriation and other risk factors. Bangladesh government role is being questioned because of not playing strong deplomatic role to bring all global forces including our neighbors India & Chaina to play positively. Forceful pushing back the helpless Rohingyas, declaration of joint military actions with Myanmar, pleasure trip of one minister with wife, irresponsible talks by party secretary & other senior leaders frustrated major citizens of Bangladesh. We earnestly requests to correct mistakes to develop national consensus.
We appreciate different governments & groups from home & abroad who played positive roles to address the Rohingya issue. The leading role of Turkey & Indonesia definitely lesson worthy. Maldwip's role to boycott Myanmar goods also appreciable on moral ground. Bangladesh government has to play strong diplomatic role to activate all regional & global bodies including UN, EU, ASEAN, SAARC, BRICS, OIC, etc. to solve the issue effectively.
