I am appalled at the sight of spineless top brass BNP leaders going to the president with smiley faces (দাত কেলায় হাসি) when their premier is effectively under house arrest. I remember in class one there was this harmless kid who used to complain every now and again to the class teacher crying out 'teacher teacher he is bothering me'. His cry of course went to deaf ears and being the naughty kid as i was, I would poke him once more just to show him whoz 'boss'. I find the analogy strikingly similar to the present political stance of BNP. Instead of organizing a mass protest and civil disobedience campaign against this tyrant regime, the BNP is busy complaining to the the so called parliament and the docile office of the president, of course not to mention , to its perceived beloved foreign friend(USA). It does not appear so far that their beloved friend is going to do anything for them any time soon. On the other hand our neighbour has made it very clear who they want to see in power and to what extent they are prepared to go to materialize their desire. Tareq Rahman's boring soft speech is not helping the cause either. What is needed is for the people to see a strong leadership declaring full scale civil disobedience. Else I dont see nething changing ne time soon ! Nabil Ahsan
